Scholarships

We are humbled and honored to provide three scholarships for campers seeking additional financial aid. Each scholarship is able to offer full, two-week tuition for one camper in each of our three workshop tracts: Visual Arts, Performing Arts, and Creative Writing.

Scholarship Application Deadline: June 15

Families will be notified of their financial aid status within 2-3 weeks after receiving the application.

Families who are awarded aid must accept or decline the award by July 1st.

Lauren Klatzkin Creative Writing Memorial Scholarship

The Lauren Klatzkin Creative Writing Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Lauren Klatzkin, beloved camper and counselor and community member for many years at YPI. This award provides financial support to a young YPI camper who exhibits leadership in the arts and passion for Creative Writing. This young person has demonstrated the commitment to creativity, hard work, and willingness to step outside of their comfort zone.

Scholarship Submission Packet Must Include:

Demonstrated leadership in school or in extracurricular activities in the form of a short bullet list of activities and/or publications.
Demonstrated financial need by a completed financial aid application.
A 300-word (or less) essay on what inspires or motivates you to write.
Two non-family letters of support, including one from a writing instructor.

Michael John Dion Musical Theater Memorial Scholarship

The Michael John Dion Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Michael John Dion, beloved Musical Theater teacher for many years at YPI. This award provides financial support to a young YPI camper who exhibits leadership in the arts and passion for Musical Theater performance. This young person has demonstrated the commitment to creativity, hard work, and willingness to step outside of their comfort zone.

Scholarship Submission Packet Must Include:

Demonstrated leadership in school or in extracurricular activities in the form of a short bullet list of activities.
Demonstrated financial need by a completed financial aid application.
A 300-word (or less) essay on what inspires or motivates you to be a triple threat and study Musical Theater.
Two non-family letters of support, including one from acting, singing, or dance/movement instructor.

Rachel Doran Visual Arts Memorial Scholarship

The Rachel Doran Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Rachel Doran, beloved Fashion Designer, Counselor, and Photographer at YPI. This award provides financial support to a YPI camper who exhibits leadership in the visual arts and a passion for Fashion and/or Photography. This young person has demonstrated the commitment to creativity, hard work, and a kindness that makes others better.

Scholarship Submission Packet Must Include:

Demonstrated leadership in school or in extracurricular activities in the form of a short bullet list of activities.
Demonstrated financial need by a completed financial aid application.
A 300-word (or less) essay on what inspires or motivates you to be an artist.
Two non-family letters of support, including one from an art instructor.
