“Loose Ends” by Anaisja

Editor’s note: This week’s blog post comes to you courtesy of Helena, Songwriting Master Teacher at YPI.

This year in our Songwriting workshop, I basically prohibited our students from mindlessly assigning titles to their songs. No simply copying the hook and naming the song that (unless the song demands it). A song title is more space to be creative, to get stuck in someone’s head, to stand out, to add meaning to your music!

Some of the kids came to me with a song title, and I turned them away at first, insisting they could do better. But Anaisja got this lesson without me even having to tell her: when I asked her what her song title was, she said without hesitation, “Loose Ends.”
